Welcome to the Lunar Frontier: Discover The Lunadyne Incident & Other Stories

Greetings, space enthusiasts and science fiction lovers! I’m thrilled to invite you into the rugged, awe-inspiring world of The Lunadyne Incident & Other Stories, my latest anthology now available on Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D5F7L3QS. This collection of five gripping tales transports readers to a near-future Moon, where humanity clings to survival amid corporate intrigue, scientific discovery, personal agendas, and the unforgiving lunar landscape.

A Journey into the Fabulae Lunae Universe

Set in the Fabulae Lunae universe—a richly imagined saga I’ve been crafting with a blend of my astrophysics background and a passion for hard science fiction—these stories follow the lives of lunar prospectors, astronauts, and renegades. At the heart of this anthology is Conrad Station, a bustling hub in the Ocean of Storms, where characters like Nils Carmike, a former astronaut turned prospector and occasional story teller, navigate radiation storms, mercenary standoffs, and the promise of hidden ice deposits. Each tale weaves together personal drama with the harsh realities of lunar colonization, offering a fresh perspective on humanity’s next frontier.
From the tense evacuation of Golf and Outgassing, where seasoned astronaut Annie MacInturner races against time to retrieve vital experiments, to the mysterious encounter in Morgan’s Road that hints at a life-altering secret, these stories are more than just sci-fi escapades. They’re a meditation on resilience, community, and the cost of ambition in a world where water is more precious than gold and corporate giants like Lunadyne hold sway—often with questionable motives.

Inspired by Real Lunar Science

As an author with a deep understanding of astrophysics, I’ve grounded these narratives in the latest lunar research. The stories reflect real-world efforts like NASA’s Artemis program, which targets water ice in permanently shadowed regions for in situ resource utilization (ISRU). In CME, the threat of a coronal mass ejection (CME) and the use of regolith shielding mirror current studies on protecting astronauts from solar radiation—a challenge scientists are actively tackling. Meanwhile, the pursuit of KREEP (potassium, rare earth elements, and phosphorus) deposits in The Lunadyne Incident draws from geological data suggesting these materials could fuel future lunar economies.
Yet, I’ve taken creative liberties to challenge the polished narratives of the modern space age. The Lunadyne Corporation, a fictional powerhouse in these tales, stands as a critique of how profit-driven agendas might overshadow the human spirit—a theme that resonates with today’s space race dynamics.

Meet the Characters and Stories

  • The Lunadyne Incident: Sheriff Del Anderson faces a mercenary siege at Conrad Station, turning lunar environmental tactics into a desperate bid for survival. It’s a tense thriller that questions the ethics of corporate control.
  • Golf and Outgassing: Join Annie and Milt on a mission to Fra Mauro, where historical Apollo sites meet modern peril—a story of legacy and quick thinking.
  • CME: Nils Carmike leads a race against a deadly radiation storm to save a colleague, showcasing the lunar prospector community’s “Rule 1: Survive.”
  • Descent into Darkness: Nils goes on a dangerous mission to the Shackleton Crater, hoping to make up for past mistakes while also making an important scientific discovery.
  • Morgan’s Road: A mysterious prospector’s secret sets Nelson on a path to riches, foreshadowing the bigger secrets that shape my novel Thunder Moon Tussle.

Connect to the Broader Saga

For those who’ve enjoyed Thunder Moon Tussle, where Nils grows alongside Deputy Miller, this anthology offers the backstory that fuels his journey. Also, the sequel, Mask of the Joyful Moon, slated for release in December 2025, promises more lunar intrigue and surprises. These stories are the building blocks of a universe I’m expanding with each project, and I’d love for you to join the adventure from the beginning.

Why Read The Lunadyne Incident & Other Stories?

Whether you’re a sci-fi aficionado, a lunar science buff, or simply curious about humanity’s potential beyond Earth, this anthology delivers. It’s a love letter to the Moon’s stark beauty and a cautionary tale about the forces shaping its future. Plus, you can trust the science is as solid as the regolith—though I’ve spiced it up with enough drama to keep you turning pages!
