A wax­ing cres­cent hangs over Earth.

The long lunar night con­tin­ues at Con­rad Sta­tion. Out­side there is only Earth­light on the regolith and the hard black of vac­u­um. Earth hangs high above the sta­tion. Sur­face activ­i­ty remains min­i­mal. Life con­tin­ues inside the habi­tats under arti­fi­cial light, where the qui­et tech­ni­cal mar­gins that keep every­one alive remain ful­ly in force.

Nils Carmike is indoors for the dura­tion. Rule One still applies, and unnec­es­sary EVAs can wait. At Alex’s Bar, the sto­ries run as long as the night, some of them true.

A near-future Moon colony thriller, still play­ing out at Con­rad Station.
