Dai­ly Moon Dis­patch – 27 August 2026

Tonight Earth sees a deep par­tial lunar eclipse — an almost-blood Moon, with about 96 per­cent of the disk in shadow.

From Con­rad Sta­tion the same align­ment looks different.

The sta­tion sits on the near side, in the long lunar day. When Earth slides between Sun and Moon, the Sun does not set. It is occult­ed. Earth hangs high and near­ly cov­ers the solar disk, leav­ing only a thin sliv­er of hard light and a cop­per-red ring of atmos­phere. At the height of the eclipse, that ring remains. The usu­al glare drains out of the regolith. A dim red­dish glow takes its place — the same fil­tered sun­light that turns the Moon cop­per from Earth now paints the habi­tats, the crawler tracks, and the gray dust in a low, unnat­ur­al dusk. Win­dows pick up the col­or. The sta­tion does not go dark. It goes red for a while. Then the sliv­er widens, the hard gold returns, and the long day con­tin­ues as if noth­ing had happened.

The lag has not changed. Nei­ther has the work.
