A wan­ing cres­cent hangs over Earth.

The long lunar night con­tin­ues at Con­rad Sta­tion. Out­side there is only Earth­light on the regolith and the hard black of vac­u­um. Earth hangs high above the sta­tion. Sur­face activ­i­ty remains min­i­mal. Life con­tin­ues inside the habi­tats under arti­fi­cial light, where the qui­et tech­ni­cal mar­gins that keep every­one alive stay ful­ly in force.

Sher­iff Del Ander­son is on the ros­ter. Whether he is actu­al­ly walk­ing the cor­ri­dors is anoth­er ques­tion — resid­ual hero-sta­tus and a bot­tle still occu­py the same office, and the sta­tion has learned to glance that way before decid­ing how seri­ous a prob­lem is.

A near future moon colony thriller, still play­ing out at Con­rad Station.
