Daily Moon Dispatch – 20 August 2026

The Sun has just risen at Conrad Station. The long lunar day is beginning.

Outside, hard golden light is returning to the regolith. After two weeks of Earthlight and vacuum black, the surface is bright again. Systems that spent the night on stored power can recover. Life still moves carefully — the lag has not changed — but the station is no longer living entirely indoors under artificial light.

From today forward, the Daily Moon Dispatch opens more widely across the whole Fabulae Lunae sequence. Any of the three books — The Lunadyne Incident, Thunder Moon Tussle, or Mask of the Joyful Moon — and any of their central characters may take the lead.

Tonight on X

Lunar Signals – Living with the Lag Live discussion on Torn MacAlester’s Space. The three-day transportation lag and how it changes justice, medicine, commerce, and decision-making when physical help cannot arrive any faster. What becomes possible, and what becomes impossible, when Earth is always that far away.

Stories

The stories of Torn MacAlester are science fiction, where the science is well-grounded. I intentionally made any deviations for speculative purposes. To maintain maximum realism, I restrict the scope of these deviations.

Articles

I write articles of science fact and science fiction. The articles here span the knowledge of modern science and the speculations of fiction. I try to caveat everything that is an assumption. You will find articles about spaceflight, the possibilities of alien contact, and descriptions of technology used in my stories.
